Argentina Sets 3% Pay Rise for Domestic Workers With Tiered Bonuses in February and March

Overview

  • At a CNTCP meeting, government, unions and employers agreed a 3% adjustment split into 1.5% for February and 1.5% for March.
  • Fixed, non‑remunerative bonuses of $8,000, $11,500 or $20,000 will be paid in both months based on weekly hours, and they do not affect aguinaldo, vacations or social security contributions.
  • Updated minimum hourly and monthly scales by category and by modality (with or without retiro) were circulated for February and for March.
  • The agreement is pending formalization in the Boletín Oficial, and the parties set an April meeting to assess further changes, including discussion of mandatory viático.
  • The Human Capital Ministry indicated March pay would mirror February, while the UPACP union published tables showing an additional 1.5% in March, a discrepancy to be resolved in the official resolution.
