Overview
- The national government confirmed Monday 15 June 2026 will be a national holiday after the Paso a la Inmortalidad of Martín Miguel de Güemes (originally 17 June) was trasladado to create a three‑day long weekend from Saturday 13 to Monday 15.
- Law 27.399 allows certain patriotic dates that fall on Tuesday or Wednesday to be moved to the previous Monday or those on Thursday or Friday to the following Monday, and officials used that rule to shift the Güemes observance.
- Saturday 20 June remains an inamovible national holiday for the Paso a la Inmortalidad of Manuel Belgrano and will be observed on that date as usual.
- Provincial and local authorities can keep separate dates: Salta will observe 17 June as a provincial non‑laborable day, and parts of Buenos Aires Province have local holidays such as Dudignac on 8 June and Leubucó (Villa Martín Ayerúa) on 10 June.
- The trasladado affects public administration, schools, banks and most private workers, requires special pay for those who work that day under labor law, and is intended to boost short domestic travel and local commerce during the long weekend.
