Argentina Dairy Exports Hit 12-Year High in 2025 as Output Climbs to Decade Peak

Officials point to sector modernization, targeted financing, improved management, plus a stronger export focus.

  • Exports totaled 425,042 tonnes worth US$1.69 billion, up 11% in volume and 20% in value from 2024, according to official data based on INDEC.
  • In milk-equivalent terms, shipments reached 3,129 million liters, an 18% annual increase that accounted for 27% of national output.
  • National milk production for 2025 was 11,618 million liters, the highest level of the decade and the second-highest on record.
  • Whole milk powder led the export basket at 35% of volumes, followed by whey at 17%, mozzarella at 13%, skim milk powder at 7% and semi-hard cheeses at 6%.
  • Argentine dairy reached 89 destinations, led by Brazil with 41% of volumes, Algeria 19%, Chile 7%, China 7%, Uruguay 3% and Russia 3%.
