Overview
- The government formalized the adjudications in Resolución 1149/2026 published on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, granting 20-year concessions for four Etapa II-B tramos that total more than 2,500 kilometers.
- Creditech–Plantel won the Mediterráneo and Portuario Sur tramos with offered tolls of $1,989.67 and $1,256.03 respectively, Basaa–Cecosa won the Puntano tramo at $1,440.08, and CPC won Portuario Norte at $1,856, all figures shown without VAT.
- Contracts will run under the obra pública por peaje model, which requires concessionaires to fund repairs, expansion, conservation and maintenance before applying toll schedules and to deploy barrier-free electronic tolling systems such as TelePASE and Free Flow.
- The tender drew 18 firms and 41 offers, with a Comisión Evaluadora discarding some bids for technical or economic noncompliance, and Vialidad Nacional designated to monitor performance using result-based indicators.
- This adjudication completes Etapa II-B of a phased plan that followed Etapa I and II-A and precedes a planned Etapa III of roughly 3,900 km, a shift that will transfer day-to-day road management to private operators and change how motorists pay for and experience national routes.
