Overview
- ADEFA reported June production of 37,029 vehicles, a 1.9% decline from May and a 13.6% fall versus June 2025.
- Cumulative output for the first half of 2026 totaled 204,658 units, an 18.3% drop from the same period in 2025.
- Exports weakened in June to 22,373 units and fell 2.1% for the January–June period to 126,893 units, while wholesale deliveries rose month to month but were 23.7% lower year on year.
- ADEFA president Rodrigo Pérez Graziano said the industry is recovering slower than demand, welcomed the national cut in export duties and urged provinces and municipalities to lower local taxes to restore competitiveness.
- The sector’s decline reflects stronger competition from imports, ongoing factory retooling and investment needs, with risks for jobs, trade income and future plant output if subnational fiscal relief and fresh investment do not arrive.
