Overview
- The agreement was signed Thursday in Quito by Argentine Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno and Ecuadorian minister Sariha Moya during President Javier Milei’s visit.
- The deal sets a 10% customs duty on Ecuadorian-made vehicles entering Argentina, reciprocal 0–10% tariffs for Argentine cars into Ecuador, and 0% duties on autoparts from Ecuador.
- More than 140 autoparts positions, including electric and hybrid components, receive tariff elimination to encourage Ecuadorian firms to join Argentine supply chains.
- Argentine officials and industry groups project initial exports near 2,400 units with a target rise to 4,000–5,000 vehicles and an official aim to double current export volumes.
- The pact will be carried out as an addendum to ACE-59 and requires administrative steps and coordination with ADEFA, AFAC, ACARA and original equipment manufacturers before trade changes take effect.
