ARD Dominates Sunday as ‘Tatort’ Nears 31% and Final Ratings Push ZDF Satire to Youth Records

New AGF data that add delayed plus livestream viewing redefine success in Germany’s weekend TV.

Overview

  • Tagesschau and a new Vienna-set Tatort, both on ARD, led Sunday with 31.1% and 30.9% market share, as ProSieben’s quiz reached 11.0% and RTL’s Jungle Cruise 10.3% in the 14–49 demo.
  • Final AGF figures published Monday lifted ZDF’s satire hits to all-time highs in 14–49, with heute-show at 35.8% and ZDF Magazin Royale at 30.7% after time-shifted viewing was counted.
  • AGF’s “endgültig gewichtete” ratings fold in three days of delayed use and broadcaster livestreams eight days after air, which can add large youth audiences that were missed in overnight numbers.
  • Saturday’s film strategy paid off for commercial TV as Sat.1’s Asterix & Obelix hit 8.0% and RTLzwei’s Die Wolke reached 7.4% in 14–49, outpacing several show formats.
  • RTLzwei’s Kampf der Reality-Allstars, which performs much better on RTL+ streaming, struggled in linear TV Sunday with 390,000 then 430,000 viewers and only 2.9% to 3.4% in 14–49.
