Overview
- Arbor Energy and GridMarket announced an agreement for up to 5 gigawatts of baseload capacity, with deliveries planned to start in 2029.
- Each HALCYON unit generates 25 megawatts and ships as a pre-assembled, 3D-printed module that the companies say shortens build times versus legacy turbines.
- Arbor targets its first grid connection in 2028 and plans to ramp to more than 100 turbines a year by 2030, adding over 1 gigawatt of capacity annually.
- The turbines are fuel-flexible and can run on natural gas or biomass with oxy-combustion and carbon capture, and the company projects very low emissions with a path to negative emissions over time.
- GridMarket will connect data centers, manufacturers, and hyperscalers to this capacity, and Arbor hired Nishad Pai as chief commercial officer to build its commercial pipeline.
