The region turns its patron’s feast into a daylong cultural showcase for all ages.

Overview

  • Under the banner Aragón Tierra Abierta, the regional government centers the celebration at Zaragoza’s Edificio Pignatelli with continuous activities from 10:00 to 21:00 and a closing concert by La Estrella Azul at 20:30.
  • Families will find children’s magic shows by Rubén Díaz, Civi Civiac and Javi el Mago, a Ferieta de Juegos play area, and dance performances from LaMov Danza and the Dance of El Rabal.
  • The Day of the Book sets up on Paseo de la Independencia from 9:30 to 21:30, and museums including Goya, the Municipal Museums, La Seo and CaixaForum offer free entry on set schedules.
  • Local police have not issued special traffic orders, yet authorities expect large crowds and advise using public transport to avoid congestion and parking delays.
  • The Catholic Church also commemorates Saint George on April 23 as a third‑century martyr, alongside figures such as St. Adalbert of Prague and Blessed Egidio of Assisi.
