- Applied Materials formally launched the Tampines Campus on Wednesday, June 10, with the company saying the US$500 million facility is already operating at volume.
- The new site more than doubles Applied’s advanced cleanroom and manufacturing capacity in Singapore to serve chipmakers expanding production for AI workloads.
- The facility uses Autonomous Mobile Robots, autonomous assembly and testing systems, and AI-assisted quality inspection to shorten development and production cycles.
- Applied and Singapore partners announced local workforce measures at the opening, including about 1,000 projected jobs, expanded internships and research and training links with NUS and SIT.
- The campus is built for high sustainability standards and forms part of Applied’s wider manufacturing and R&D investments, which include US equipment upgrades and the planned EPIC Center in Silicon Valley.
