Overview

  • Apple pushed the second developer betas of iOS 27 and iPadOS 27 on Monday, June 22, using build 24A5370h and issuing matching second seeds for macOS, tvOS, visionOS and HomePod software.
  • Beta 2 adds a systemwide 'Write with Siri' keyboard shortcut that surfaces in Notes, Mail and Messages and delivers noticeable speed and responsiveness gains for Siri AI in early tests.
  • The release surfaces new app interfaces such as a Wallet Insights screen (not yet functional) and Home app support to remotely update Apple TV, plus RCS improvements including inline replies and correct reaction emoji on media.
  • Apple warns many Apple Intelligence features require newer hardware: iOS 27 supports iPhone 11 and later but Siri AI needs more recent, Apple Intelligence–compatible devices and the most powerful on‑device models demand even newer phones.
  • Apple continues a cautious beta cadence, urging installation on secondary devices, preparing a public beta in July and a full September release, and keeping some Siri AI features out of the EU while it works through regulatory compliance.
