Apple Rolls Out Third Developer Betas for 27.2 Across Its Platforms

A coordinated beta wave prepares the redesigned Health app, expands Siri AI language support, isolates iPhone Duo code in a private branch.

Overview

  • Apple released the third developer betas of iOS 27.2, iPadOS 27.2, macOS 27.2 Golden Gate, watchOS 27.2, tvOS 27.2 and visionOS 27.2 on Monday, Oct. 5 for registered developers to test.
  • Apple followed with a second public beta wave on Oct. 6 so wider testers can access the 27.2 builds through the Beta Software Program.
  • The 27.2 cycle is testing a redesigned Health app that adds Insights and Longevity tabs plus a readiness or Health Age score that relies on data from newer Apple Watch models such as Series 12 and Ultra 4.
  • Siri AI is being expanded beyond U.S. English to support French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish in the 27.2 betas, and developers received Xcode 27.1 Release Candidate to build against the new APIs.
  • Apple skipped a public 27.1 cycle to keep iPhone Duo–specific code private, the 27.2 builds include explicit build numbers for testing, and the betas also surface other experiments such as dual capture FaceTime, Apple TV profiles on iPhone and background traces of a possible AutoLock security feature.
