Overview
- Apple shipped beta 3 for iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS and visionOS on March 2, then released macOS Tahoe 26.4 beta 3 on March 3 (iOS/iPadOS build 23E5223f; macOS build 25E5223i).
- iOS and iPadOS 26.4 test an AI-driven Apple Music Playlist Playground, native video podcasting via HLS in Apple Podcasts, end-to-end encrypted RCS messaging, and Stolen Device Protection enabled by default.
- visionOS 26.4 adds foveated streaming to deliver higher detail where the user looks and compress peripheral regions, with impact dependent on third‑party app support.
- macOS Tahoe 26.4 focuses on practical tweaks including a Charge Limit slider allowing 80%–100% caps, the return of Safari’s compact tab bar, and warnings that Rosetta-based apps will lose support in a future version.
- Separately on March 4, Apple released iOS 26.3.1, iPadOS 26.3.1 and macOS Tahoe 26.3.1 to add support for the new Studio Display and Studio Display XDR and to deliver bug fixes, and it also began rolling out macOS 26.4 public beta 3.
