Overview
- Apple's Tap to Pay on iPhone, launched Wednesday in Malaysia, is live through ADAPTIS, Fiuu, HitPay, Stripe, and Zoho.
- Merchants can accept Apple Pay, contactless credit and debit cards, and other digital wallets using only an iPhone 11 or later.
- Transactions use the phone’s NFC for secure taps, support on-screen PIN entry with accessibility options, and keep data encrypted so Apple does not see what was bought or by whom.
- Supported cards in Malaysia include American Express, JCB, Mastercard, MyDebit, UnionPay, and Visa.
- The rollout builds on a 2022 U.S. debut that has since reached more than 50 countries, lowering costs for small businesses that would otherwise buy or rent a card reader.
