Apple Reportedly Readies Conversational Siri for WWDC Preview, Explores AI Pin for 2027

Multiple reports describe deep OS integration powered by a replaceable, adapted Google model.

Overview

  • Bloomberg reports Apple is transforming Siri into a full conversational assistant codenamed Campos that supports text and voice and retains context across exchanges.
  • The chatbot is expected to be embedded across iPhone, iPad and Mac with abilities to summarize content, generate text, find files, read on‑screen context, and control apps and system settings.
  • A WWDC unveiling in June is anticipated, with the rollout targeted for iOS 27, macOS 27 and iPadOS 27 in the autumn; the upgrade is separate from the upcoming iOS 26.4 features.
  • The system would initially run on a heavily adapted version of Google’s Gemini referred to internally as Apple Foundation Model 10, with Apple aiming to keep the underlying model swappable.
  • The Information reports Apple is also prototyping an AirTag‑sized AI wearable with two cameras, multiple microphones, a speaker and wireless charging, with the earliest cited launch in 2027 and production and viability still unconfirmed.
