Apple Publishes 2026 Sales Tax Holiday Schedule for 10 States
The company’s state-by-state page lists which Apple products qualify for tax-free purchase, notes widely different price caps, and warns savings may only appear on the final receipt.
Overview
- Apple posted an official sales tax holiday page listing the ten states that will offer tax-free windows for select Apple products and accessories from mid-July through August.
- Eligible items vary by state but most lists include certain Macs, iPads and related accessories, and a few states also include iPhone models and the Apple Vision Pro.
- States set very different price limits: Arkansas lists no sales-price cap for Apple items, Massachusetts excludes items over $2,500, Florida and Missouri cap computers and accessories at $1,500, Virginia limits eligibility to chargers and batteries $60 or less, and West Virginia covers only iPads priced $500 or less.
- Customers can buy online or in store, but Apple warns that the tax reduction may not show at checkout and could be applied only on the final receipt, and some local taxes or state rules can still affect savings.
- Apple’s student Back to School offers have begun appearing in parts of Asia and could launch in the U.S. soon, allowing students to potentially combine store promotions with these state tax holidays for larger savings.
