Overview
- Bloomberg reported Tuesday that Apple will add an Apple Intelligence Tools section to Photos in iOS, iPadOS, and macOS 27 with three new options—Extend, Enhance, and Reframe—alongside the existing Clean Up tool.
- Extend would let users drag a photo’s edges to generate content beyond the original frame so a tight shot can gain surrounding scenery.
- Enhance would automatically tune color, lighting, and overall image quality using models that run on the device and return results in seconds.
- Reframe targets spatial photos, letting users shift the captured perspective after the shot to change the angle or framing.
- Extend and Reframe have produced unreliable results in internal testing, so Apple may delay or scale them back before the WWDC preview on June 8 and the expected fall release, in a push that also includes a broader AI strategy for Siri and a new Camera Siri mode for live visual lookups.
