- Apple published a Chinese-language guide on Aug. 8 that lets eligible Macs running macOS 26.6 or later connect Siri and Writing Tools to Alibaba’s Qwen if users opt in and sign in to a Qwen account.
- The guide says content processed through the Mac extension cannot be used by Alibaba to train or improve its models and requires users to activate the Qwen extension before use.
- Apple and Alibaba have said the Qwen integration is intended to cover iPhone, iPad, Mac and Vision Pro software, but the Mac extension is the only visible piece currently live and Apple has not given a full rollout schedule.
