Apple Brings Wallet Insights to U.S. iOS 27 Beta

Apple says a wholly owned subsidiary will fetch and standardize linked account data for on‑device financial visualizations without storing account information.

Overview

  • iOS 27’s Wallet now includes an Insights section that has appeared for U.S. beta testers and is designed to aggregate linked payment accounts for spending trends, recurring charges, and balances.
  • Users can find Insights in Wallet’s three-dot menu where Apple prompts them to connect accounts to see spending summaries and recurring-transaction detections.
  • A Wallet splash screen states an Apple wholly owned subsidiary will fetch, categorize, and standardize account information for display and that account information is not stored.
  • The feature is not fully active in the current beta: tapping Continue on the splash screen opens the Add to Wallet screen without new account‑linking options for many testers.
  • Observers note Insights could replace the earlier Connected Cards approach by working without explicit issuer support, which matters because Connected Cards had limited bank adoption and some recent rollbacks.
