Overview
- A developer beta is available now in Italy and across the European Union via the Apple Developer Program, with a public beta slated for December.
- Translations run on the paired iPhone using Apple Intelligence, and the feature can operate offline once language packs are downloaded.
- Compatible earbuds include AirPods Pro 3, AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4 with active noise cancellation, paired with iPhone 15 Pro or later models that support Apple Intelligence.
- At launch the system supports Italian, English, French, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Korean and Chinese in simplified and traditional forms.
- Conversations can be translated when both parties wear compatible AirPods or when only one does, with adaptive audio lowering the original voice and sessions startable via a long press on both stems, Siri, the Action button or the Translate app; related translation features also appear in Messages, FaceTime and Phone.
