AP All-America First Team Features UConn’s Sarah Strong and Azzi Fudd

Overview

• Strong and Fudd became the first teammates in six years to make the AP first team, joined by Vanderbilt’s Mikayla Blakes, UCLA’s Lauren Betts and Texas’ Madison Booker.
• Strong was a unanimous AP selection after averaging 18.5 points and 7.6 rebounds on 60.1% shooting through conference tournaments.
• Fudd averaged 17.7 points with elite efficiency and durability this season, posting career highs while playing every game.
• The USBWA also named Strong and Fudd to its first team, the first such teammate pairing since Oregon’s Sabrina Ionescu and Ruthy Hebard in 2020.
• USBWA honored Vanderbilt’s Shea Ralph as National Coach of the Year as the Commodores secured a No. 2 seed in UConn’s Fort Worth 1 regional.
