Anthropic’s Claude Goes Live on Azure With NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra

The launch gives enterprises a governed, high-throughput path to run agentic AI through Microsoft Foundry and NVIDIA’s Secure Agent Workspace.

Overview

  • Claude became generally available in Microsoft Foundry on Azure on Monday, June 29, 2026, running natively on NVIDIA GB300 Blackwell Ultra GPUs to support production agent deployments.
  • Microsoft says Foundry customers can access Claude through existing Azure accounts and controls, including Entra ID authentication, role-based access, billing in Claude Consumption Units, and options for zero data retention.
  • NVIDIA and Anthropic have integrated toolchains so enterprises can use NVIDIA-verified agent skills and the Secure Agent Workspace reference design to enforce identity, network, credential and runtime policy controls.
  • Vendor and industry reports state Azure ND GB300 v6 virtual machines achieved inference throughput above 1.1 million tokens per second per rack in testing, though those figures come from vendor-linked reporting and lack independent third-party verification.
  • The deployment builds on a November partnership between Microsoft, NVIDIA and Anthropic that reporting says included large investment and compute commitments, and it leaves Claude available across major clouds as firms race to offer managed frontier models for enterprises.
