Overview
- Anthrax unveiled its 12th studio album, Cursum Perficio, with lead single “It’s for the Kids” arriving Friday and available to pre-save now.
- Cursum Perficio is due out Sept. 18 and will be the band’s first full-length since 2016’s For All Kings.
- The title draws from a Latin phrase on a tile at Marilyn Monroe’s last home that is often read as an ending but more literally signals perseverance.
- Drummer Charlie Benante called the record very important, said every track stands on its own, and pledged to book as many shows as possible to support it.
- Guitarist Scott Ian said the long gap came from an extended For All Kings tour and a 2020 shutdown, noting the new album took about three years of actual writing and recording.
