Anthony Pettis Returns to MMA to Headline ORDA Global’s Debut vs. Adil Boranbayev on June 6

The former UFC lightweight champion frames the comeback as a fresh chapter following the death of longtime coach Duke Roufus.

Overview

  • Pettis announced the matchup in an Instagram video, confirming he will face Adil Boranbayev in the main event of ORDA Global Fights 1 on June 6 in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
  • Boranbayev enters with a reported 23-13-1 record, coming off a split-decision loss in ACA last September, and previously lost by submission to Shavkat Rakhmonov in 2016.
  • This will be Pettis’s first MMA bout since two losses to Stevie Ray in the PFL in 2022, following stints in boxing and Karate Combat.
  • Pettis highlighted his intent to create “new” moments in the return and told Boranbayev to “get ready because it’s showtime.”
  • The booking headlines ORDA Global’s inaugural card as emerging promotions seek established names, a trend also seen with Most Valuable Promotions’ Netflix event on May 16.
