ANSV Reports Three Extreme Drunk-Driving Cases in Buenos Aires Province Controls

Under a zero-tolerance regime, the motorists were removed from circulation, facing fines up to ARS 1.8 million.

Overview

  • On Autopista Riccheri, a driver who denied drinking tested above the breathalyzer’s measurable range (>3.0 g/l).
  • A second maximum reading in Bahía Blanca also exceeded the device limit, with officials releasing images from the stop.
  • On National Route 9, another driver registered 2.14 g/l after saying he had “a glass” at a friend’s home.
  • In all three stops, ANSV agents seized licenses, halted the trips and initiated sanctioning processes that can include judicial driving bans.
  • The cases formed part of summer controls that checked 1,013,198 vehicles in January–February, issued 23,527 infractions and recorded 3,672 positive alcohol tests, with 6,421 licenses and 1,605 vehicles retained.
