Another Spectator Collapses at ATP Finals After Two Reported Deaths in Turin

Play resumed after a seven-minute stoppage following on-site treatment by medics.

Overview

  • During Lorenzo Musetti’s match against Alex de Minaur, play was halted at 1–2, 40–40 in the third set when a spectator collapsed in the stands.
  • The interruption lasted about seven minutes, the man was carried from the Inalpi Arena to applause, and his condition was not yet reported.
  • Local reports earlier said two men, aged about 70 and 78, died on Monday after suffering cardiac arrests connected to the event.
  • Emergency responders from the 118 unit attempted resuscitation in both cases and transported the men to Turin’s Molinette Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
  • Matches continued as scheduled on Monday, including the planned light show, and many attendees only learned of the fatalities later in the evening.
