Anne Arundel Police Shoot Carjacking Suspect After Officer Is Hit by Car

The case underscores county concern over carjackings.

A carjacking in Seven ended up with a woman shot by police after allegedly hitting an officer with her car. According to Anne Arundel County police, a carjacking occurred around 9 p.m. in the northern district. Police found the car about a half hour later on Pioneer Drive in Severn. Police said the suspect then struck an officer with the car and then police opened fire forcing the car to crash. Police said the suspect then fled on foot and officers where able to catch her after a brief pursuit. The suspect suffered a wound to the shoulder and was taken to the hospital. The officer that was struck by the car was also sent to the hospital, but has been released. The suspect is facing multiple charges as the investigation continues.
