Overview
- Construction walls moved back Monday to reopen part of the area, revealing new planters, fresh pavement, and newly painted columns near The Little Mermaid theater.
- The theater’s side wall now carries a near-finished “Walt Disney Studios – Mickey Mouse and Silly Symphony” billboard-style mural that references Disney’s 1930s Hyperion Studio, with the final Mickey image still to be added.
- The Magic of Disney Animation facade now matches on both sides with red stripes inspired by Burbank’s Roy E. Disney Animation Building, and crews are building out the entrance overhang below the new Sorcerer hat marquee.
- Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live! is slated to open May 26 in the refreshed courtyard, while the reimagined Magic of Disney Animation space will follow later this summer with Olaf-led drawing sessions, character meet-and-greets, and an Alice in Wonderland play area.
- The rebranded Walt Disney Studios Courtyard will add green space and pavement featuring character autographs and handprints, bringing more shade and a studio-era look to a corner of Disney’s Hollywood Studios that has stayed open for Little Mermaid performances.
