Overview
- Elbit America, Anduril Industries and Oshkosh Defense announced a strategic teaming agreement on June 2 to offer the SIGMA Mobile Tactical Cannon into the Army’s Mobile Tactical Cannon competition.
- On Team SIGMA Elbit will supply a fully automated 155 mm, 52‑caliber cannon, Oshkosh will provide a 10×10 wheeled chassis, and Anduril will integrate its Lattice C5ISR, edge compute and autonomy software.
- The Army is using an accelerated other transaction agreement path and plans to pick teams for prototype testing next month, which shortens the usual procurement timeline and pressures rapid onshoring and software interoperability.
- Several other competitors are confirmed to be in the running through U.S. subsidiaries, including Hanwha (K9), Leonardo DRS/KNDS (Caesar variant), Rheinmetall and BAE Systems, creating a multi‑team contest.
- Team SIGMA stresses U.S. manufacture and a domestic supplier network of more than 300 companies while also tying this effort to the Army’s Operation Jailbreak work that earlier identified Lattice as an initial software connector.
