André Panse Takes Over Rosenbrauerei Pößneck Effective March 16

The rescue follows a 2025 insolvency filing, setting a path to specialty beers under a new GmbH.

Overview

  • The 160-year-old Thuringian brewery confirmed the takeover on its homepage and said operations will continue.
  • Insolvency administrator Rolf Rombach said he and staff spoke with about six potential investors before the deal.
  • Eight of the brewery’s 25 employees were reported laid off, largely in administration, according to OTZ.
  • Panse also owns Greizer Brauerei and runs companies in the solar and computer sectors.
  • A related brand, Ehringsdorfer Brauerei in Weimar, was taken over by a private couple in December 2025.
