Andhra Pradesh Targets 100 MSME Listings on NSE Emerge to Power Job Growth

The drive signals a shift from reliance on state support to raising equity for growth.

Overview

  • At a Vijayawada seminar Wednesday, IT minister Nara Lokesh set a target of 100 Andhra Pradesh MSME listings within three months on NSE’s SME platform.
  • Lokesh said MSME listings are central to the goal of creating 20 lakh jobs and cited a pipeline of about 800 projects worth ₹23 lakh crore with potential for 24 lakh jobs.
  • NSE chief Ashishkumar Chauhan said 720‑plus companies have raised about ₹21,000 crore on Emerge over 14 years with a combined market value near ₹2.3 lakh crore, and issues can be as small as ₹2 crore.
  • The government plans an MSME park in every assembly constituency and faster online approvals under a “Speed of Doing Business” push.
  • Officials pointed to a Google data centre in Visakhapatnam drawing supplier investment from Carrier in Sri City as an example of how large anchors can seed local jobs and clusters.
