Overview
- The Andhra Pradesh government began selling BPT super fine (steam) rice at ₹52 per kg and BPT raw rice at ₹50 per kg on Sunday through Rythu Bazaars and a network of rice mill outlets.
- Sales are capped at 10 kg per household and require Aadhaar verification to limit diversion and target relief to individual consumers.
- The programme launched in coordination with the State Rice Millers’ Association and uses about 130–150 Rythu Bazaars plus roughly 500 mill outlets to secure supply and quality.
