Overview
- Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu visited Banaganapalle on Thursday to hand over digitally updated pattadar passbooks under the Mee Bhoomi – Mee Hakku programme and to direct immediate removals from the 22‑A restricted list.
- Revenue officials say the resurvey has been completed in 6,887 villages, 29.04 lakh pattadar passbooks have been printed and distributed, and 2.48 lakh verifications were done in June, leaving about 64.53 lakh passbooks still to issue.
- Gutupalle village saw 2,074 acres of patta land removed from the 22‑A(1)(c) prohibited category after orders issued at the Tahsildar office, officials found 426 acres of Waqf land wrongly listed, and 897 farmers were reported to benefit from the action.
- The government has declared a target to distribute 72,70,605 pattadar passbooks across 9,833 villages by March 2027 and to complete resurvey of remaining villages as part of the rollout and regularisation process.
- Officials and local beneficiaries say clarified titles will let farmers use or sell land that was blocked under 22‑A, while the administration frames the effort as correcting past misclassification and rescinding a contested Land Titling Act.
