Overview
- Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu reaffirmed the government’s commitment to P4 during a Kuppam interaction on Sunday, presenting the initiative as a long‑term mission to eradicate poverty through mentoring and livelihoods.
- P4 follows the MBK 10-20 approach, which the state says asks the top 10 percent to help the bottom 20 percent, and officials report about 12 lakh Bangaru Kutumbams identified and roughly 1.10 lakh volunteer Bangaru Mitras signed up.
- Kuppam is the visible pilot: officials say 8,904 beneficiary households there have been mapped, close to 9,000 were entrusted to corporate partners and the Chief Minister has personally adopted 250 families.
- Government and partners report early outputs in Kuppam including Rs 5.29 crore of CSR mobilised for 761 families, 444 dairy beneficiaries, 155 goat and sheep rearers, small business support and a MEIL training centre where 59 youths finished electrician courses with most placed in jobs.
- The programme is being rolled out in phases with most of the 12 lakh households still to be covered and independent verification and sustained mentor oversight will be key to judging whether pilot gains scale beyond Kuppam.
