- APTRANSCO directed state power distributors to speed rooftop solar work under the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana after a review led by Special Chief Secretary K. Vijayanand.
- The rollout uses a Utility-Led Aggregation model that lets utilities group applicants and handle end-to-end installation for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe consumers.
- Installations for SC and ST households have reached 20,636, with 5,027 under APCPDCL, 8,548 under APEPDCL and 7,061 under APSPDCL.
- Under the regular scheme, rooftop connections now total 129,562 households across all distribution companies in the state.
- Officials announced a planned extension of subsidies to eligible Backward Class households to widen access and lower monthly power costs.
