Andhra Pradesh Offers One-Time 50% Interest Waiver on Property Tax Arrears Through March 31, 2026

The time-limited relief aims to bolster urban local bodies by requiring a single digital or counter payment to clear dues.

Overview

  • MA&UD Principal Secretary S. Suresh Kumar announced the waiver for the 2025–26 year across all municipalities and municipal corporations.
  • To qualify, taxpayers must pay 100% of the principal plus the remaining 50% of accrued interest in one lump-sum by March 31, 2026.
  • Payments are being accepted through the Mana Mitra and PuraMitra platforms or at designated municipal office counters.
  • The government has stated the window will not be extended and says the measure is designed to regularise dues and improve compliance.
  • Officials urged State and Central government departments to clear significant arrears, noting property tax funds core urban services including water, sanitation, roads and street lighting.
