Andhra Pradesh Launches NTRUHS Command Centre to Monitor Medical Exams in Real Time

Initial monitoring covers MBBS and PG tests in five colleges, with a phased rollout planned to all 37 institutions.

Overview

  • Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav inaugurated the integrated centre at Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences in Vijayawada on January 22.
  • Live CCTV feeds from examination halls are now being watched centrally for MBBS and postgraduate exams in five medical colleges.
  • Authorities plan to extend coverage in phases to dental, Ayurveda, homeopathy, nursing and other courses across the state’s medical colleges.
  • All footage will be stored digitally for up to 70 days, ending the previous practice of colleges sending CCTV hard disks after exams.
  • The system issues AI-based alerts for camera failures and preserves access during temporary internet disruptions, and the setup cost ₹30 lakh.
