Andhra Pradesh Extends IPS Officer Sunil Kumar’s Suspension to June 30 or Case Completion

A review panel recommended keeping the 1993-batch officer off duty to protect the integrity of ongoing corruption, criminal and disciplinary inquiries.

  • A separate criminal case (Cr.No.187/2024) on alleged custodial torture involving a sitting MLA and the Deputy Speaker remains under investigation with further examinations pending.
  • Departmental action includes charges framed under Rule 8 and a probe into alleged adverse comments on X, and the DGP has been directed to take further necessary steps.
