Andhra Pradesh Clears Major Amaravati Capital Works in 'Green and Blue' Push

The approvals move Amaravati's capital plan from designs to funded execution.

  • At the 60th CRDA meeting, the state approved Rs 1,208.41 crore for Quantum Valley twin towers, Rs 2,540 crore for facade and cladding of key government towers, and Rs 798 crore for Assembly civil works.
  • CRDA also cleared core urban services, including roads, drainage, water, and sewer for LPS Zone‑11, and approved rerouting 220 kV power lines to free sites for construction.
  • Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu set design and connectivity goals for the capital, calling for an iconic Krishna river bridge to Vijayawada, an early start on the Inner Ring Road, a financial district, district cooling, and ducted utility corridors.
  • The authority approved land for anchors that can seed activity in the new city, allotting plots to SEBI, two schools, the State Fire Services, and the state cooperative bank APCOB.
  • BITS Pilani told the CM it will build an Amaravati campus with AI and Quantum departments, target 2027 admissions, invest about Rs 250 crore in phases, and grow to serve up to 10,000 students.
