Andhra Pradesh Approves 480 Acres for Google-Backed 1 GW AI Data Centre, With Adani as Primary Partner

A government order details a more than Rs 87,500 crore plan, requesting incentive access for listed partners.

  • The December 2 order permits transfer of 480 acres across Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli to Adani Infra for AI data centre development, subject to surveys and possession formalities.
  • Raiden Infotech India, a Google company leading the project, named Adani group entities and Bharti Airtel’s Nxtra units as notified partners for delivery.
  • The state recorded over Rs 87,500 crore in phased investment and about Rs 22,000 crore in incentives, with Raiden seeking authorisation for its partners to also avail the incentives.
  • The facility is planned at 1 GW capacity to Google-grade standards and is expected to draw power comparable to nearly half of Mumbai’s annual electricity use at full operation.
  • The order lists specific sites at AdavivaramMudasarlova, Tarluvada and Rambilli and instructs agencies on parcel transfers, including Rambilli to Nxtra Data and the Visakhapatnam sites to AdaniConneX; Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has said Google’s announced investment rose from USD 10 billion to USD 15 billion.
