Ananta Set to Launch January 15, 2027

NetEase’s open-world influencer RPG will be free-to-play with cosmetics-only purchases on PS5, PC and mobile, signaling a non-gacha strategy for a high-profile January launch.

Overview

  • NetEase and developer Naked Rain confirmed the January 15, 2027 release during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live and unveiled a new trailer that introduced a second city called Chongxiao.
  • The game will release on PlayStation 5, PC (via Steam and NetEase’s client) and iOS and Android mobile devices with Xbox availability not announced.
  • NetEase has reconfirmed a free-to-play model that excludes character gacha and directs monetization toward cosmetics, vehicle and housing customization while playable characters are earned through gameplay.
  • Ananta’s core loop centers on social-influence progression under the tagline “Go Viral. Save the World,” and the title mixes large urban sandboxes, martial-arts combat, multi-character swapping and more than 100 recruitable NPCs.
  • Pre-registrations have topped 17 million and the January date places Ananta roughly eight weeks after GTA 6’s launch, a timing that could affect player attention and the game’s competitive position in the open-world market.
