Overview
- AMD launched EXPO 1.2 on Friday, adding support for new DDR5 module types and mixed-capacity memory setups.
- ASUS began rolling out beta BIOS version 2301 that exposes EXPO 1.2 features on many X870 and X870E motherboards.
- The update introduces an Ultra-Low-Latency mode that can cut about 5 to 7 nanoseconds from a typical DDR5-6000 kit.
- CUDIMM support in current AGESA 1.3.0.0 and 1.3.0.1 firmware is only partial, and modules fall back to standard speeds through CKD bypass on boards without full support.
- AMD is partnering with Chinese brands RAMXEED, Rui Xuan, and Fujitsu Synaptics to widen EXPO kit supply and help rein in costs for mainstream buyers.
