AMC and Harkins Reissue Dolly Parton Films for Limited Theatrical Tributes

Affordable screenings provide public memorial space with proceeds directed to the Imagination Library.

Overview

  • AMC announced a limited retrospective running Aug. 28 through Sept. 2 at about 200 U.S. locations, offering two matinee showings where possible and discounted Fan Faves pricing.
  • Harkins is staging a $6 tribute weekend on Aug. 29–30, and the chain says all ticket proceeds will benefit Parton’s Imagination Library.
  • Both exhibitors will screen Steel Magnolias (1989) and The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (1982), two of Parton’s best-known film roles.
  • Showtimes and tickets for AMC’s engagement are available through the AMC mobile app and website, and Harkins listings and tickets are on harkins.com or the Harkins app.
  • The screenings recognize Parton’s multi-decade cultural and philanthropic impact and create low-cost, communal ways for fans to mourn, donate, and revisit her work on the big screen.
