Amazon Luna Ends Third-Party Game Sales and Sets June Cutoff for Access

The shift refocuses the service on its two subscriptions after years of a-la-carte options.

Overview

  • Amazon confirmed Friday, April 10, that it removed in‑platform purchases, third‑party stores, and outside subscriptions from Luna.
  • Streaming for previously purchased or linked EA, Ubisoft, and GOG titles will end on June 10, though those games remain playable through their original launchers.
  • Ubisoft+ and Jackbox subscriptions bought via Luna will be canceled at the end of the next billing cycle, and new sign‑ups through Luna are no longer offered.
  • Amazon will not issue refunds for games bought on Luna, which could force players who relied on cloud streaming to use their own hardware or another cloud service to keep playing.
  • Users can download their save data until September 8, 2026, and Amazon says it will email eligible customers on or after June 10 with a free Luna Premium offer as it centers the service on Standard for Prime members and the paid Premium tier.
