Amazon Launches Fire TV Stick HD in India With Xbox Cloud Gaming

The launch signals Amazon's push to fold cloud gaming into low-cost TV hardware.

Overview

  • The device, which launched Tuesday in India, costs Rs. 4,999 and is on sale through Amazon, Flipkart, Blinkit, Swiggy Instamart and Zepto, with offline retail to follow.
  • It supports streaming at up to 1080p 60fps with HDR10 and HDR10+ and plays AV1, VP9, H.265 and H.264 video formats.
  • Wi‑Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 improve connections for busy home networks, and a Direct Power option lets some TVs run the stick from a USB port to reduce cable clutter.
  • Xbox Cloud Gaming is now available on this HD stick in India, allowing play of cloud-enabled Xbox titles with a Bluetooth controller and an active Game Pass subscription.
  • Amazon says the stick is over 30 percent slimmer than earlier Fire TV models and more than 30 percent faster than the previous HD version.
