Overview
- Sony Music Vision announced Wednesday that Always Lalisa will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on Sept. 18 and begin a limited IMAX and global cinema run on Oct. 12.
- Tickets for the theatrical screenings will go on sale Sept. 9 through the film’s official site, and the documentary will stream exclusively on YouTube Premium later in 2026.
- The film is directed by Sue Kim and is produced by Sony Music Vision with RCA Records and Tremolo Productions, in association with Salt Water Productions and Lloud Co., with multiple named producers and executive producers.
- Always Lalisa follows Lisa during a self-described pivotal year in which she steps away from Blackpink to pursue solo music, acting and brand-building, and the release is timed near her EP Press Play (Oct. 23) and a Las Vegas residency in November.
- The rollout pairs festival credibility with a fan-focused distribution strategy, making the film both a box-office event for Blinks and a test of YouTube Premium’s ability to draw global streaming audiences for major music documentaries.
