Alpine Ends A110 Petrol Production as Dieppe Prepares for Electric Successor

The company is investing in its Dieppe plant to build an electric A110 on the new Alpine Performance Platform that is engineered to accept a petrol engine if needed.

Overview

  • Alpine completed production of the second‑generation A110 on Wednesday with a commemorative A110 R 70 in Bleu Alpine, closing a 2017–2026 run of 28,701 cars and 35,450 total A110s built at Dieppe since 1969.
  • The Dieppe factory will be retooled and upgraded so it can assemble the third‑generation A110 on the bespoke Alpine Performance Platform (APP), with investment in new tooling and industrial processes.
  • Alpine has confirmed the next A110 will debut as an electric car on APP while keeping the platform adaptable to internal‑combustion hardware as a strategic hedge against changing markets and rules.
  • Reported technical targets being developed for the EV A110 include a dual‑motor, rear‑drive layout with active torque vectoring, two separate battery packs arranged for about 40:60 front‑to‑rear weight distribution, and fully aluminium suspension.
  • Alpine plans a dynamic prototype appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed ahead of a fuller public reveal at the Paris motor show in October, a rollout intended to connect the brand’s Dieppe heritage with its electric future.
