Overview
- The shooting, which occurred around 2:30 a.m. Monday, left 31-year-old Andrew Locke dead and his mother injured after gunfire struck their Mitsubishi at Waterside Drive and Crestway Road.
- Investigators used a license-plate reader and surveillance video to link a white Volvo to the scene and traced the car from a residential parking garage to a dealership where two people were detained.
- Kyle Erin Torres-Carcovich, Robert Barnett and Martin Sanchez Jr. were arrested and initially charged with failure to report a felony, with Sanchez also charged with tampering with evidence and bonds set for each suspect.
- Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said a recorded jail phone call in which Sanchez admitted to firing led prosecutors to file a murder charge and investigators later recovered a handgun near the airport.
- The sheriff’s office has conducted court-approved searches at multiple homes and vehicles, recovered spent shell casings from a Valero trash can, and said the investigation is ongoing with more updates expected.
