- Hugging Face’s Aug. 14 state-of-open-models report and Alibaba statements show Qwen has surpassed 3 billion cumulative global downloads, making it the most-downloaded open-model family.
- On Hugging Face alone Qwen recorded about 2.045 billion downloads in 2026 compared with roughly 418 million for Google and 227 million for Meta, a concentration that understates total use because China’s ModelScope activity is not included.
