Alibaba Launches Zhenwu M890 AI Chip and 128-Accelerator Rack for China’s Enterprise Market

The move targets self-reliance in AI hardware under U.S. limits on high-end chip sales.

  • Alibaba introduced the Zhenwu M890 at its Alibaba Cloud Summit, saying it delivers three times the performance of the earlier Zhenwu 810E.

  • Alibaba rolled out the Panjiu AL128 rack that links 128 accelerators in one cabinet, with availability to Chinese enterprises through the Bailian platform.
  • T-Head said it has shipped more than 560,000 Zhenwu units to over 400 customers across 20 industries.
  • The company set a roadmap to the V900 in the third quarter of 2027 and the J900 in the third quarter of 2028, and said the V900 is expected to be roughly three times faster than the M890.
